The Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters of HCMR will assess the existing automatic water monitoring networks in Greece and their upgrade and expansion needs, while it will propose suitable river locations for installation of new monitoring stations. Water quantity and quality monitoring stations will be installed that will continuously record important parameters such as: pH, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity and water level. These measurements will be telemetrically transmitted, on a daily basis, to the relevant online platform of the project. At the same time, a guide for the maintenance and operation of the overall monitoring network will be prepared while modern methods of quality control and data visualization will be integrated in the system. The collected data will enrich the OpenHi.net database and will be freely available in a comprehensible form through the online platform of the infrastructure.
